I realised the drains were blocked mid morning by seeing some water seepage around the man hole cover. An engineer from Happy Drains was there to fix the problem just after lunch. Got to work immediately and it was all done very quickly and professionally and he left the drains completely clear, sanitised, man hole covers replaced and the everything back to normal, no mess or disruption. Advice on blocked down pipe.
I spoke to David at Happy Drains about a blocked downpipe which led to a soakaway under a block paved drive. David said the only solution might be to power jet it but there were possible risks to the sand base under the blocks. He advised me to try and disconnect the downpipe, lift it out of the ground collar and see if I could clear any blockage. With his encouragement, this is what I did and removed a root based blockage. I cannot thank David enough for his helpful advice which on this occasion denied him a fee. Clearly an excellent company to phone with these types of issues.
