What to do if you have a cracked pipe

There are many reasons why a pipe might crack. If the weather is very cold then the constant freezing, thawing and refreezing of a water pipe could cause cracks to develop. If the pipes are underground then tree roots can cause cracking, or it could be down to ground movement, blockages, corrosion, building subsidence, or even heavy vehicles driving over where the pipes are laid. Signs of a cracked pipe include leaks, bad smells, cracked walls, and low water pressure. And a cracked drain can be a very serious issue because it could lead to damage to your property, flooding or pollution.

So if you spot anything amiss, give us a call. We’ll arrange to come and investigate. Our experts may be able to spot any visible signs of damage, in which case an immediate repair may be possible.

If not, we may suggest a CCTV survey so we can have a good look at what is going on underground. If we do then find cracks, there are a number of options depending on the extent of the damage. We can offer a patch repair just in the affected area. We can dig up, replace and re-lay your pipework. We could also re-line your drains, which is less invasive, faster, and can be very effective, although it’s not going to give a permanent solution.

Here at Happy Drains we are the experts in dealing with all kinds of drainage issues so we’re sure we’ll be able to fix your problem. For more information give us a call on 0800 849 8099 or visit our contact page.
